A teenager presented with prominauris (prominent ears) and underwent an otoplasty to reshape and reposition the ears to a more natural position (post-operative image on right). Otoplasty is a powerful procedure that can be performed in both children and adults and can be performed with only local anesthesia depending upon patient preference. This particular patient experienced a boost of confidence with respect to self-image which translated into improved performance in school and athletics.
