   Before Chin Implant
   

   
   

   Chin augmentation is a commonly performed procedure to improve the balance of the facial profile and to strengthen chin projection.   A poorly projected chin can be a result of congenital growth deficiency, age-related bone absorption, or facial trauma.  A weak chin can make the nose seem larger or make the neck appear fatty and undefined. Chin augmentation with an implant is the procedure of choice for most patients although Reviance surgeons offer both surgical and nonsurgical methods to augment the chin.

   
   

   This patient wanted to subtly increase the projection of her chin area.  She opted to have a permanent chin implant placed.

   After Chin Augmentation 

   Notice the subtle yet natural augmentation to the chin area.  This procedure was performed in less than an hour and under local anesthesia.  In many cases, a chin implant can also improve the appearance of the neck especially on profile view.
